Dr. Babcock research interests lies in occupational exposures and hospital epidemiology. She uses the BJC occupational health database to study risk factors and outcomes of needle-stick injuries, as well as the impact of newer safety devices on injury rates. She has also studied nosocomial infections such as ventilator-associated pneumonia, and influenza in hospitalized patients, including risk factors and the utility of standard case definitions in this population. |
