Education

The field of aerosol science and technology covers the basic principles that underlie the formation, growth, measurement and modeling of systems of small particles in gases. These systems play an important role in nature and industry, and in the study of nanoparticles that are the building blocks for nanotechnology.

Advances in aerosol science and technology have applications in many fields that include, but are not limited to:

Advanced Materials  |  Energy  |  Environment  |  Medicine & pharmaceuticals  |  Microelectronics  |  Nanotechology  |  Space exploration

  • E44 518 Aerosol Science and Engineering
  • E44 510 Dynamics of Air Pollutants
  • E44 548 Combustion and the Environment
  • E44 563 Measurement Techniques for Particle Characterization
  • E44 564 Topics in Nanotechnology
  • E44 592 Advanced Topics in Aerosol Science and Engineering

To enrich the experience of undergraduate students, a focused International Experience has been initiated. The highlight of the class is a summer visit to an city where partner schools of the McDonnell Academy are located.
